Well-written and insightful. I’ve been increasingly anxious about this lately. I feel like we’ve become too divided and reality is being deconstructed on a daily basis almost. I feel crazy haha. But I have to remind myself that being aware isn’t all bad. Maybe in moderation. I know that writing is my therapy, a way to maintain control of something, even if it is fictional in my case. Thanks for the read. I always enjoy your posts!
I’m the same! The more I think (and I “think” this counts for most people), the more I spiral into a deep abyss of existential dread. As far as I understood, from reading the book, this has to do more with a heavy interaction between both hemispheres, not necessarily a division between! Meditation is definitely a great way to tranquilize the mind.
Until reading McGilchrist’s book I thought the same! Really recommend looking/reading about Roger Sperry and Michael Gazzaniga’s experiments concerning the right and left hem.
I’m personally a big fan of those optical illusion images. Apparently they have something to do with the right / left hemisphere too. I’m definitely going to look into Iain McGilchrist. He seems like a cool guy
Hi Darren! I am also a fan of optical illusions. So interesting how you can always only see but one of the “illusions”. Your brain simply can’t see them both at once!

Interesting. Then there’s me who thought left brain meant math and right art! Interesting stuff!
